Oct. 4, 2020:

IMPORTANT MESSAGES:
This message is for Remote Students ONLY:
Starting this week all homework and classwork must be handed in on time. I spent many hours this weekend trying to decipher what day the work was due. I am getting work sent to me for the whole week in one message. The children in school have to hand in their homework on time, therefore the remote children have to follow the same rule as per Ms. Bellone. She stated in her Zoom meeting the teacher’s should be deducting points for homework received late. As of today I have not received any homework or very little homework from some remote students.
I did not follow this for the past month. Starting with Tuesday’s homework I expect everyone’s homework to be on time. Failure to do homework will result in lower report card grades.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Homework Guidelines in general for ALL STUDENTS:
1. Homework should be done neatly and in pencil
2. Homework should be done by your child
3. Please sign all homework so I know you are aware of the quality of your child’s work.
4. Homework should be handed in on time.
Thank you for your attention.

All parents should purchase a thermometer over the weekend and should be able to create their parent account so they can utilize this app on Monday morning.

REMINDER:
On Monday we will be celebrating the Feast of St. Francis. Fr. Gannon will be blessing animals in our classroom. He said the children can bring pictures of their animals or a stuffed animal to represent their pet.

September 8, 2020

Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year. As we begin this new adventure together please work with me as we travel these uncharted new ways of learning.

As some of you know I was in school all day today at meetings to obtain information about this year.

Kindergarten begins on Friday, Sept. 11th. for both home school learners and children coming to class at 8:30 AM and ends at 12:00 PM for this day only. Attendance will be taken for all children within the first ten minutes of class. Home school learners must be on their device at this time as well or they will be marked late.

My classroom is setup for social distancing learning. Plastic shields have been ordered for your child’s protection.

For children who will be learning from home, appointments will be necessary to pick up books and iPads. I will be sending out an appointment schedule starting Thursday.

Please be sure to check the website and/or Option C daily to check for updated information.

Below is some of the information I received today during our faculty meeting:

1. There will be early morning program beginning at 7:30 AM
2. There will be an after school program in the auditorium until 6:00 PM
3. Parents must answer the following questions daily on Option C for your child to enter school:
a – Is your child showing any physical symptoms of Covid?
b – Have you been in contact from anyone with Covid in the last 14 days?
c – Have you been out of state within the last 14 days?
4. All children entering the building will have their temperature taken daily. Any child with a fever will be sent to the isolation room, parents will be contacted and you must arrange to have them picked up immediately.
5. If your child is sent home from school they cannot return without a doctor’s note.
6. Lunch begins Monday, Sept. 14th. Please note lunch will be grab and go: cold lunches only.
7. All TITLE ONE classes will be done remotely.
8. Once children come to my room they remain there for the entire day except for bathroom breaks.
9. Parents must sign a consent form to use Class Dojo and any other remote programs.
10. No one except students and school personnel will be using our building.
11. Children will be required to clean their desks throughout the day
a – When they enter in the morning
b – Before snack and lunch
c – After lunch
d – Before we go home
The building will be deep cleaned after dismissal each day.
12. Wearing a mask is mandatory. Children will have periodic mask breaks during the day when they will be able to remove them for a few minutes. Please practice wearing a mask with your child each day. Please send extra masks each day.
13. Children will be sent to the bathroom two at a time. Only one child will go in at a time. Children will walk on each side of the hall. Arrows and signs have been put up for children to follow.

I want to reassure you that all precautions are being taken for your child’s safety. I know if we work together we will have a safe, successful year.

Thank you in advance for all of your cooperation.

1. Home School meeting on Monday, Sept. 9th.
2. Please be sure to check and sign homework every night
3. Please send in all supplies as soon as possible
